Small business photo shoot
"Thank you Gemma for taking so much care over me and my business - it has been an absolute pleasure." Chrissie.
I met Chrissie from Glass at the Spinney on Instagram last Summer. I saw her gorgeous glass wave creations and she saw my images of beaches. So, it was written in the stars that we would meet and end up doing a shoot together!
Our small business photo shoot was split into two parts. First, we shot some of her fabulous creations. She has a lovely range of glass products, from delightful little hanging birds to bespoke scenes. I love the hanging waves and the blue stripey coasters!
The next part of the shoot was to get some action shots of Chrissie working at home with all her magical tools and big sheets of glass. I shot a variety of images around her house to showcase her with her products. We also wanted to shoot images showing the artist behind the work. It's so important to be the face of your business!
Below is a small selection of the images from the session. I included some square crops for her Instagram grid and other sizes for social media use too.
I've combined some of the images together into 9 image grids - there's 3 different grids below. The first one shows Chrissie at home, working. The other two show her products.
If you run a small business and need a selection of images to post on social media, or use on a website, or even a leaflet, then have a look at my business packages.

"Working with Gemma was an absolute pleasure. She really put me at ease and gave me loads of tips about how to be in the photos themselves. The whole process was so much fun and really enjoyable." Chrissie.
"The photos Gemma created are beautiful. She really understands and plans out the whole process from set up, props and design to the light and angles themselves. She knows her stuff! Gemma has created the most stunning images that I could never have managed to do myself. My product range has never looked so beautiful!" Chrissie.

Headshot photoshoot in Cowbridge
The start of the year is always a good time to think about refreshing your headshot. Admit it, it's on your 'to do list' right? I really enjoyed this headshot photoshoot in Cowbridge with Ceri in January.
To start the headshot photoshoot in Cowbridge we met at the fabulous Arboreal Kitchen for a coffee and a chat. We started the session indoors before heading outside.
There were so many different backgrounds to choose from in the lovely little market town. We really did get a great variety of images for Ceri. We took a stroll up the High Street and mooched around, spotting great doorways and colourful walls that we could use. Ceri needed some shots for her new business website and so she opted for two outfits so that she could have both informal and formal images as options.
All headshot photo sessions include a change of outfit and variety of different locations and backgrounds, so that clients have plenty of images to choose from.
"Thanks Gemma. A great experience, you come highly recommended." Ceri

Cardiff headshot photographer
If you're looking for a Cardiff headshot photographer, then you're in the right place. Winter is a busy time for headshot sessions and commercial shoots. I recently met up with Business Psychologist, Sheila from London to refresh her headshot for her website. The shoot took place in a gorgeous hotel with lots of light and different backgrounds to choose from.
Headshot sessions last around an hour. There's plenty of time to have a chat, change outfits and choose a few different locations as backdrops.
If you're wondering why you might need a headshot, then read my blog post - 3 reasons why you need a professional headshot!
You can also see more of my commercial work in my business portfolio too. Headshot sessions don't always have to be just head and shoulder portraits. If that style doesn't suit your business, we can create different images that portray you in the right way.
Most business people that book a shoot want an image for their LinkedIn profile or website. With my headshot package - you get 5 images included in the price and a gallery of over 30 images to choose from!

Small business photoshoot
Small business photoshoot
I adore working with small businesses and I love this small business photoshoot. As a business owner myself, I know how hard it is to work alone. There's so much that needs to be done - marketing, accounts, admin - that sometimes it can feel overwhelming. As a photographer I'm well aware of the need for great images to showcase my work and I also understand how important it is for other businesses to be able to show off their products or services to their full potential.
With years of experience I can help you to create a fantastic set of images for your business that will make it stand out. Each business is unique and so I offer free consultations to all business owners to help map out a bespoke plan for their images.
When Kate from Skratch Ceramics contacted me to book a shoot for her business I was extremely excited. I've been a big fan of her work for years and couldn't wait to see her studio - where all the magic happens.
Kate wanted a selection of images to use across her social media platforms and website, so we included images of her working as well as the studio and products.

Harpist Photo Shoot
A beautiful South Wales harpist photo shoot.
My job is so varied. One day I'll be working with a family on the beach and then I'll be shooting kids at a nursery. Next thing you know, I'm in shooting a harpist! When I received an enquiry from local harpist Marged Hall, I was very excited. The harp is such a beautiful instrument and I knew that together we could create some gorgeous images in a harpist photo shoot for her new website.
At the start of June, the weather was very wet and murky so we were really happy just to have a couple of dry hours! Marged has a stunning garden and a variety of lovely harps so I was very happy indeed. We used a couple of different harps in the shoot - one of which was over a hundred years old! There were lots of different areas of the garden that looked great, so we moved around to try different locations. We also took some shots indoors as well.
There was a huge variety of images to choose from. When Marged saw her images she said:
"Thank you so much for these! I am so pleased and impressed with what you’ve managed to create! Wow! So thrilled to have worked with you - I will be highly recommending you! We are thoroughly enjoying going through all the pictures." Marged x
I love working with local business people, creating images that they can use to promote their businesses online. I have a great headshot package - that includes a set of digital images.
